Aberdeen Country Club Offers 27 Holes of Fun

If good golf, value and conditions are important factors when considering where to play your next round, Aberdeen Country Club needs to be on your radar.

The 27-hole facility is one of the area’s hidden gems. Home of the Highlands, Meadows and Woodlands nines, Aberdeen is a Scottish-inspired facility, complete with the mounding and bunkers one might expect to find in the Old Country.

Of course, Aberdeen features the beauty native to South Carolina as well, as the Woodlands nine plays through environmentally sensitive areas on its way towards the Waccamaw River.

Architect Tom Jackson designed all three nines to reward shot-makers, requiring players to hit the ball to the proper spot, as opposed to mindlessly bombing the driver.

The Highlands nine is the most open of the three, testing players with an undulating set of greens. The Meadows is the shortest course, playing 3,306 yards from the tips, but it’s also the tightest. Woodlands presents the most significant challenge, as it’s the longest nine (3,445 yards) and has water on every hole.

No matter which course you are playing, the key to success at Aberdeen is finding the fairway off the tee. Do that and a good day awaits.
