The Grass is Always Green at Arrowhead Country Club

The Intracoastal Waterway, pristine conditions, and a firm but exceedingly fair layout have made Arrowhead Country Club one of Myrtle Beach’s best and most underrated golf courses.

The 27-hole facility, designed by 4-time major champion Raymond Floyd, is home to the Cypress, Lakes and Waterway nines. The Waterway and Cypress nines both have holes that play along the Intracoastal, but the Lakes nine is arguably the strongest layout.

A significant part of the course’s appeal is its consistency. The layout is always in outstanding shape from tee to green, no matter the time of year. Arrowhead is one of the few area layouts that continues to overseed tees, fairways, rough and greens, meaning it’s green 12 months a year.

The MiniVerde greens are among the best along the Grand Strand, leaving no doubt golfers will enjoy a smooth roll.

Identifying the best hole at Arrowhead, due to the abundance of quality options, is difficult, but the most memorable hole is the fifth on the Waterway nine. A 356-yard (from the white tees) par 4, the Intracoastal runs the length of the left side, waiting on drives that are pulled and providing memorable visuals for all.
